In November 2009 Charles Woodson, star cornerback and 2009 NFL Defensive Player of the Year made a $2 million donation to the University of Michigan’s Mott Children’s Hospital, yet it stands reasonable to believe that less than 5% of sports fans and an even smaller fraction of our total population know about this charitable contribution. Why is it that these selfless acts go with such little fanfare and coverage in our society?

Sporting Generosity is here to celebrate the achievements made to our community through sport and to not let these incredible acts of generosity go unnoticed. Charles Woodson is not the only athlete who has recently made such a significant contribution; every day there are countless acts of extreme generosity by both individuals and organizations that go completely unnoticed by society. We want to provide the platform to identify these achievements and to help facilitate more giving.

We encourage you to learn more about the individuals and organizations behind Sporting Generosity. While doing so, please think about what you can do to help in your community. If you’re interested in getting involved please feel free to contact us.
